Summary/Objective:


The Shipping position assumes a role in supporting the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. The Shipping position is also responsible for the following regular and repetitive duties.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Working Conditions:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.


Essential Functions:

  • Occasionally required to transport completed boxes to UPS Store after normal shift hours.
  • Apply correct shipping labels to correct boxes.
  • Properly route finished goods to QC Checks or area waiting for shipping labels.
  • Perform packaging and shipping responsibilities.
  • Must help from beginning to end of each quarterly hard count which requires overtime and weekend hours.
  • Use PQL splitting tool and kitting tool in IDS Database to properly package finished goods based on work orders.
  • Must perform any other tasks requested by supervisor
  • Help load boxes onto UPS truck.
  • Pick the appropriate box of finished goods from shelving to complete work orders.
  • Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Accurately enter information for packaging labels to complete work order and print labels.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Use handheld computer scanning system to move and shelve finished goods to different locations.

Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00a – 6:00p


Overtime is as needed based on shipping demands (for all shipping positions and for Quality)


Preferred Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of factory related experience in shipping and receiving


Additional Eligibility Qualifications:


The current opening in the shipping department will be filled by someone who already has a chauffer’s license or is willing to immediately get a chauffer’s license in order to drive a 26-foot box truck. Being able to drive a box truck, amongst other shipping team duties, will be a regular expectation.
