Job Description
THIS IS FOR A FUTURE OPENING
Shipper/Packer
STGi is currently seeking candidates to work as Shipper/Packers to support a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility. The CMOP utilizes a combination of automated and manual procedures to prepare and dispense Over the Counter (OTC) and legend drug prescriptions, controlled substance prescriptions, bulk type prescriptions, and medical/surgical products directly by mail to patients. The nature of services includes the operation and support of automated and manual filling equipment, and the preparation of prescription orders for mail-out dispensing.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Placing patient refill documents and return address label into the package.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Maintaining stock and a clean work area.
  • Scanning prescription barcodes.
  • Placing an address label on the package and sending the completed order to the manifesting area.
  • Placing the prescription into the proper sized mailing envelope or box.
  • Adding packing material to protect the contents from leakage or damage.
  • Closing and sealing the container.
Required Skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of citizenship or legal residency in the United States.
  • Must be able to understand the precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and being able to lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds when required; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack
  • Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
  • Have basic typing skills, PC computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff.
