Job Description
Purpose:
Repair cars and light trucks, work in a friendly family atomosphere, enjoy the latest in state of the art equipment, during the summer heat work in an air conditioned facility. we utilize xtime scheduler and inspection forms and iService video for all customers every time and our service advisors are top notch and keep the shop full of work. Salary Range:
$15-$30/hr based on training and experience
Education:
  • Valid driver's license
  • ASE Certification
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience
  • B Level qualifications including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Knowledge:
Mechanical - Knowledge of machines, tools, automobiles and related systems, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
Job Tasks
  • Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
  • Install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Maintain equipment service and repair records.
  • Mandatory GM training to stay up to date on all the latest makes and model repairs
  • Replace and adjust headlights.
  • Repair or replace parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors and Service Advisors.
  • Repair manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
  • Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
  • Repair or replace shock absorbers.
  • Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
  • Repair radiator leaks.
  • Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Communicate with the Service Advisor to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
  • Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
  • Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
  • All other work related duties as assigned.
