Job Description
The centerpiece of the Seaport District’s renaissance is an entirely re-imagined historic Tin Building, featuring a one-of-a-kind Marketplace and entertainment venue operated by renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
The Tin Building by Jean Georges will feature multiple unique venues: Several full-service restaurants, fast casual and counter dining outlets as well as 10,000 sf of retail featuring private label products, grab and go, grocery and CPGs. To support this significant operation the Marketplace will feature a large commissary kitchen and bakery, as well as an exhibition kitchen that will provide media opportunities.
The Howard Hughes Corporation, the nationally recognized real estate company overseeing the re-development of New York City’s Seaport District, envisions the repositioning of the property as a magnet for attracting locals and visitors alike with a unique, year-round blend of entertainment, food and retail offerings.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Attendant is responsible for maintaining QSR communal guest seating areas and the cleanliness of all stations.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to remain organized in a fast paced, hands-on environment
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in Customer Service
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Previous order pulling experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success
  • Must be able to take instructions from management team, including but not limited to: QSR team
  • Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform general stocking duties on shelves and racks on a daily basis for all quick service restaurants units as needed – including paper items
  • Duties performs at all communal area, including but not limit to: QSR countertops, guest seating, dining area and stations on both 1st and 2nd floor and outdoor seating when applicable
  • Maintain the cleanliness of communal spaces for guest to enjoy
  • Ensure the Grab & Go areas are stock daily with soup by retrieving them from the commissary kitchen
  • Works with a high level of urgency to ensure deadlines are met
  • Support QSR stations with disposable needs
  • Performs cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, garbage disposal, pushing chairs and tables, discard trash from tables as necessary
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business need
  • Consistently report to scheduled shifts on time and ready to work in proper uniform
  • Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company
  • Ensures all orders are picked in a timely manner to meet all productivity requirements
  • Replenish products as needed
  • Assist with printing labels for food items in the Grab & Go areas, and placing them on applicable food items to be displayed on shelves
  • Assist the team with dish cleaning when necessary
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly.
The base pay range for this position is a range of $17-$20 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
