Job Title:Senior UI Developer/Lead

Location:100% Remote (Only EST candidates)

Duration: 3+months with extension

What you will do:

Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring and guidance to other designers and developers to ensure parity between the design to development hand-off.
• Maintain, design and code implementationsby integrating component enhancements, resolving issues, writing tests, augmenting documentation, and rapidly ideating by building workable proof of concepts and shippable code.
• Mentor junior resources on the team, take the role of lead developer on projects.
• Implements pattern guidancewebpages andGrommetcomponents from Figma wireframe design specifications and guidance documentation ensuring a 1:1 property parity between Figma and Grommet
• Represent the team to stakeholders, partners, clients/customers.
• Participate as a member of a collaborative cross-functional creative and development team. Perform analysis of complex functional and business requirements.
• Motivate our development community by actively engaging, supporting, educating, and troubleshooting with theGrommetcommunity via Slack, andGitHub
• Deliver code developed at the highest quality with scalability and performance in mind.
• Integrate technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and customers. Mentor and consult with team members and other organizations, customers, and vendors on complex issues.
• Provide technical leadership and exert influence outside of our immediate team. Develop innovative team solutions to complex problems. Contribute strategic direction for teams.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of webfundamentalslikeHTML5, CSS3,andJavaScript.
• Desire and commitment to building accessible web experiences that meetWCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 standards.
• Experience withunit testing (Jest, Testing Library)and end-to-end testing (TestCafe, Cypress).
• Must have 5 or more years of experiencedevelopingaccessible, responsive front-end experiences and components for enterprise environments.
• Experiencecollaboratingwith multiplestakeholdersfromcross-functional teams.
• Bonus to be familiar with consuming or contributing to design systems and/oropen-source projects.
• Thorough understanding ofReactJS, its core principles, and experience developing custom reusable components.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated influencing skills, high level oftechnicalandteam leadershipskills.
• Curiosity — you have a desire to learn and take on new challenges. You are self-driven and love to dive into new problem spaces.
• Bonus to be familiar with and understand theFigma UI toolkitanddesign tokens.
• Ability to understand user problems and business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Hands-on experience with modernES6, Typescript, web frameworks,and REST APIs.
