About This Role


Wells Fargo is seeking several Senior Systems Operations Engineers to act in a support role that requires thorough application knowledge that will be learned on the job, providing problem resolution and research support to the Business Partners, Development teams and interfacing applications related to the applications we support. You will be required to be flexible in pacing, from fast paced and challenging to slow and steady.


Candidates should be self-motivated and eager to learn, with a strong Mainframe background and DB2 and CICS experience.


Day To Day Tasks Include


Monitoring mainframe applications using tools such as SAVRS and CA7


Resolving abends using application knowledge, SDSDF, Fault Analyzer and KB cases on Confluence


Monitoring applications transmissions and repairing any failures using NDM monitoring tools


Creating Service Now Change requests and documentation through Service Now Incident Management for issue resolution.


In This Role, You Will


  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
Required Qualifications, US:


  • 4+ years of mainframe batch experience.
  • 2+ DB2 Experience
  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Required Qualifications, International:


  • Experience in Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:


  • Functional understanding of Automated Teller Machine and Point of Sale transaction processing.
  • Programming and Debugging Mainframe applications including COBOL, JCL
  • Experience with ISPF editor such as reflection workspace or other terminal editor
  • Mainframe batch experience, including JCL and COBOL.
  • Experience with Mainframe applications including File Manager, SAVRS, CA7 Batch, and SDSF.
  • CICS experience would be a plus for PI support
  • Data Transmission Experience (NDM etc.)
  • Familiarity with AGILE work flow, and Application Development life cycle.
  • CA7 Job Scheduler Experience or similar
Job Expectations:


  • Other mainframe duties around support.
  • Analyze JOB failures & Abend Resolving, Monitor Batch jobs & handle issues as part of on-call rotation, perform system maintenance requests and support daily research requests.
