Job Purpose:

DHL’s Global Business Services (GBS) Procurement group is hiring a Senior Sourcing Manager in Erlanger, Kentucky. If you have procurement management experience with an airline, aircraft maintenance, conversion, or leasing industry, this could be the job for you. In this role, you will provide input to Aviation Business Units on strategy development. You will implement best regional and global procurement practices and lead strategic supplier negotiations of major contracts jointly with our DHL Express business colleagues.

In your career, you are an experienced procurement manager who is responsible for short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and operational direction. The opportunities you have faced are often complex and require investigation and analysis. You have been responsible and successful in driving innovation within your business unit.

Your tasks:

• Implement corporate compliance and ESG rules
• New supplier types (e.g. Startups)
• Develop new and existing minor suppliers into more strategic partner relationships
• May lead negotiations
• Develop and implement long-term category strategies and manage categories with an understanding of external innovation management
• Innovation partnership programs (external and internal)
• Implement DPDHL procurement processes & strategies and educate the business leaders for seamless and efficient procurement processes
• Identify and recommend ´best in class´ suppliers and maintain good relationships with those within the scope
• Develop partnerships with traditional suppliers and startups
• Identify strategic sourcing opportunities and development and management of strategic suppliers
• Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DPDHL
• Specialize in strategic sourcing of line and base maintenance services, engine and heavy component services (e.g. APU, Wheels & Brakes, Tires, Landing Gears, Nacelles), spare components, parts repair/overhaul, consumable/expendable program development program in a highly regulated and certified industry in order to improve quality and right size cost
• Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
• Integrate Procurement services at global level for and with the business colleagues (divisions) are in scope
• Communicate and influence senior business leaders outside of own job area to accept practices and approaches
• Provide professional sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research / intelligence to support business decisions in investments and budgets and establishment of global or regional frame contracts
• Improve value contribution, realize benefits, and improve efficiency from all procurement activities while ensuring goal alignment with internal business partner in terms of quality, price, turn time, and service

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Procurement / contract management skills
• 8 years or more experience in airline, aircraft maintenance, or aircraft leasing
• Commercial, technical, flight operations experience is a plus
