Senior Software Engineer Jobs

HAAS Alert, the company behind the industry-leading connected vehicle platform Safety Cloud®, is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer to bolster our team and support our mission of building lifesaving mobility solutions to make roads and vehicles safer. We are seeking candidates to join a fast-growing mission-driven company where your skills will play a pivotal role in expanding our engineering and bringing connected safety to our customers.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader that can work in a team environment. You will be a lead engineer responsible for the development of new software products and enhancements to existing products. You should excel in working with large-scale applications, across multiple workloads and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data models used across our product suite
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Own the technical design and delivery of multiple code bases and projects
• Lead our backend product development by designing and writing software across our platform.
• Participate in code reviews across peers and junior engineers
• Collaborate with designers, software engineers, quality assurance engineers, and product managers on a cross-functional team to scope and develop functionality
• Ensure systems are staying relevant with current design and best practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Expertise in Object Oriented Design and Database Design
• 5+ years with industry experience working with a team of engineers on developing software
• Experience with Elixir
• Ability to work autonomously and own problems to completion
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• Specific experience with Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, AWS Services
• Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
