We currently have an opportunity for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our Corporate IT team in our Salem VA office or remotely nationwide. The Automation engineer determines approach and builds and implements solutions that support automated testing and software validation. They will work very closely with both Development and DevOps engineers to deliver low maintenance and high reliability automation in support of CI/CD and speed to market. He/She will understand and implement both automation that preserves component level and integrated system and software functionality. The Automation engineers will help to support tool evaluation, selection, and adoption. The Automation engineer contributes to defining of test automation approaches, framework designs and implementation. Lastly the Automation team will be supporting the Business and IT in removing repetitive manual tasks leveraging process automation solutions.

This candidate should be driven, self-motivated individual, passionate about innovation who enjoys working collaboratively across teams to ensure consistent and performant approaches to software automation, and further CI/CD maturity. You should have a proven track record of driving high level of software testing automation within a distributed, multi-tiered system and platforms. You enjoy reducing effort and organizational costs by improving automation levels, monitoring, and maintenance within both traditional and cloud architecture and environment. You should possess excellent written communication, problem solving and process management skills and strong desire to work in a fast paced, evolving and growing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads and mentors other team members, both on and offshore, in the creation, execution and documentation of planned tests and results to optimize the performance of the team.
  • Develops and performs training sessions and/or demos for others at all levels within or outside the organization.
  • Work directly with DevOps to support integration of functional and integration tests into no touch software pipeline jobs.
  • Support metric gathering and reporting on software quality from development through production.
  • Evaluates regression testing needs on assigned projects. Creates new and maintains existing regression test scripts based on system changes. Identifies opportunities to automate repeatable tests.
  • Build automation that supports validation and preservation of functionality from front end to back-end storage systems.
  • Prepare and maintain clear documentation of automation frameworks, design, and standards.
  • Participate in technical discussions within the engineering team and across functions.
  • Develop and improve tools and processes that empower teams to work faster and easier on their own.
  • Design and develop test cases for new features and capabilities.
  • Ensure full auditability of software delivery and quality is preserved.
  • Analyze automation results and identify Quality issues and report.
Education and Experience:
  • Experience working within an Agile environment and the common automation and testing approaches supporting iterative delivery.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API services and methods and approaches
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field OR equivalent work experience.
  • Insurance or Financial services experience desirable
  • Experience with integration tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo or alike.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of automation testing and ability to develop test frameworks in both scripting and object-oriented languages.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and Test Driven Development
  • Experience supporting "no touch" delivery of software leveraging system automation
  • 5-7 years of overall technology experience with 3-5 years of experience programing in java or other OO languages
  • Understanding of Common Source code management tooling such as GIT, GitHub, SVN
  • SQL knowledge
  • A team player, able to work in an environment of high levels of change and complexity
  • 4+ years of experience with at least some of the common automation testing tools such as Selenium, UFT, cucumber, SoapUI, Postman, Tricentis, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $84,000 – $118,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Hoboken, NJ; and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $106,000 -$123,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include: 401(k) savings and annual contributions of up to 12% of annual salary, competitive paid time off programs, medical, vision and dental plans, mental health support programs, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave and a variety of voluntary benefits.
