Are you looking to take part in a Procurement transformation at the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of hospital supplies? We are looking for a results driven Procurement category leader with a passion for driving value, who wants to join our company mission to save and sustain lives.

The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading our Capital Equipment and Construction categories globally with a total spend in excess of $450 million, reporting to the Global Director of Manufacturing Operations within Baxter’s Indirect Procurement team.

This position will be responsible for leading procurement excellence and driving best value for the categories under management, with key focus on cost, quality, and service. This role involves project management across several functions, business units and global sites and collaborating closely with business partners at the senior level to define priorities, establish strategic and tactical objectives, develop a multi-year category roadmap ensuring accurate alignment of requirements and supply base. Will also continuously and proactively investigate new suppliers/technologies as inputs into our value funnel, supporting our organizational goals while helping to improve patient outcomes.


What you'll be doing

  • Stimulate and support innovation by using the supplier base, regularly reviewing market developments, and mobilizing the appropriate internal network.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and use these relationships to lead category strategies, pipeline items and short/medium/long-term goals to support the ongoing delivery of product pipeline.
  • Lead negotiations across critical supply agreements using strong value-based techniques.
  • Monitor, track and report on savings and incremental value of sourcing activities
  • Be an inspiring leader within the organization on key solutions in the marketplace consistently ensuring that Baxter has line of sight to current trends in cost management.
  • Ensure that appropriate Supplier Relationship Management programs are in place for strategic and critical suppliers in the concerned categories of spend.
  • Lead the supplier selection, risk assessment and contract negotiation process for key projects.
  • Provide regular progress updates to Senior Leadership and to key internal partners.


What you'll bring

  • Ability to coordinate multiple parallel sourcing initiatives across different business groups.
  • Business sense and ability to develop critical thinking.
  • Minimum 7 years of category management experience with multinational organizations. Previous experience with Manufacturing Equipment and Construction is an asset.
  • Very strong analytic and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.
  • Proven experience in people, stakeholder and project management.
  • Deep understanding of Procurement standard processes, supply markets, suppliers and products.
  • Sophisticated understanding of pricing models and contracts terms.
  • Experience in contracting to include but not be limited to Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAs.
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $112,000 to $216,000 plus an annual incentive bonus, and equity target. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
