Job Description

The Senior Procurement and Production Specialist is to execute procurement purchases as needed to support production and demand; oversee and execute production planning and scheduling; and support inventory control, accuracy, vendor relationships, and tracking global costs of activated products. This position serves as the administrator over the item masters, bill of materials (BOM), and supplier information.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Review/reconcile deliveries and process inventory in the ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.
  • Plan and execute physical inventories including third party manufacturing and distribution locations.
  • Plan and schedule productions in North America and the European Union.
  • Purchase the necessary raw materials, packaging materials required for productions, and coordinate deliveries to meet production schedule.
  • Create and maintain costing model (price book) for new products, as well as update current costing information when increases/decreases are effective or negotiated.
  • Analyze global historical purchase and sales data for the business.
  • Reconcile batch records from production runs and input product details into the ERP system.
  • Support key relationships with tolling/contract manufacturers and raw material suppliers.
  • Cost saving/cost avoidance team member. Leads cost initiatives that realize cost savings or cost avoidance.
  • Purchase non-production related products to support customer demands.


Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and three to five years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Degree in Supply Chain and Operations or related discipline is preferred. Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP, and the ability to conduct research through Internet searches. Must have active listening and effective verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; strong decision making and interpersonal skills.
