Senior Occupational Therapist Jobs

Evaluates and treats patients with disabilities, injuries and/ or disease in accordance with the written and signed prescription and/or referral of a physician or other State authorized practitioner. Provides guidance to the clinical Rehabilitation staff.

Job Responsibility

• Orientates Therapists to designed rotation, providing instruction regarding treatment protocols and use of equipment.
• Guides clinical rehabilitation staff.
• Submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.
• Assists with program development and quality improvement.
• Serves as a liaison between the department and team members.
• Makes periodic inspections of equipment, identifies equipment malfunctions and initiates repairs by contacting appropriate service departments.
• Administers direct patient care in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician or other state authorized practitioner.
• Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
• Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
• Provides treatment to more complex assignments.

Job Qualification

We are currently seeking a therapist who demonstrates expertise and a strong skill set in either pediatrics or neuro rehab in the outpatient setting.

• Current License to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
