We are actively recruiting a Senior Manager of Procurement - Packaging in the Continental United States.

Summary:

The Senior Manager of Packaging Procurement will actively lead the packaging procurement category for a top-five confectionary firm by providing leadership in sourcing, purchasing and category management.

They will have ultimate accountability for planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring the overall department portfolio and initiatives designed to improve continually and profitably the business within the packaging department. In addition, you must ensure collaboration relative to the category amongst all departments, influencing stakeholders to achieve company and category goals.

Responsibilities

• Encourage and develop strong vendor relationships and consolidate programs across divisions for optimal purchasing power and costing.
• Strategically direct the sourcing and development of new vendors and products to Determine additional opportunities in the packaging portfolio.
• Inspire and create a positive environment for everyone working around you.
• Determine and monitor department KPIs.
• Develop, measure, and rationalise the category portfolio within the capacities and parameters of the overall Organisation.
• Lead the optimisation of category inventory by balancing customer service level, inventory on hand, product loss and opportunities to lower cost.
• Lead sourcing, purchasing and category management team members and packaging vendors to find creative new opportunities and revenue sources for the Organisation.
• Build and lead highly efficient sourcing, purchasing and category management teams.
• In conjunction with the VP of procurement, set goals and initiatives designed to deliver profitable growth in the category.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop promotional calendars to drive category growth by channel/region.

Requirements

• Education: Advanced degree
• Experience: a minimum of five years of packaging with expertise in dealing with packaging procurement
• Technical: Mastery level proficiency with spreadsheets, dashboards, and associated tools
• Leadership: Must have experience managing and dealing with a team before
