Responsibilities:
- Testing and debugging: Conduct thorough testing of software applications, specifically focusing on HL7 integration, XML, and XSLT functionalities. Utilize tools like Messaging Workbench and XMLSpy to test and validate HL7 messages, perform data transformations, and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve software defects and ensure the delivery of reliable and high-quality software solutions.
- Maintenance and Support: Take responsibility for the maintenance and support of applications and systems running in the Oracle and Java environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, perform system enhancements, and ensure continuous system availability and performance. Implement effective incident management and problem resolution processes to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Maintain software applications in an Oracle and Java environment, with a specific focus on HL7 integration. Utilize HL7 standards and protocols to facilitate seamless communication and data exchange between healthcare systems. Employ XML and XSLT technologies to transform and manipulate HL7 messages and data.
- Development Operations Management: Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle within the existing Oracle and Java environment. Coordinate with development teams to plan, prioritize, and manage development activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Implement efficient development processes and best practices to optimize productivity and collaboration.
- HL7 integration and data transformation: Implement HL7 integration solutions, including parsing, validation, and transformation of HL7 messages using tools like Messaging Workbench. Utilize XML and XSLT technologies, such as XMLSpy, to create and modify HL7 message structures, perform data mapping, and transform data formats as required.
- Oracle database integration Maintenance: Maintain software applications with Oracle databases, ensuring proper data storage and retrieval. Utilize Oracle database technologies, including SQL and PL/SQL, to develop and optimize database queries and procedures to support HL7 data integration and retrieval requirements.
Requirements...
- Strong knowledge/experience with Oracle Cerner data desired.
- Java expertise including strong knowledge of Java programming language and frameworks and Oracle database technologies, including SQL and PL/SQL.
- Participate in development of software user documentation and technical reports.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
- Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- HL7 development - understand HL7 messaging/parsing including segments, fields, components, sub-components and repeating fields.
- Knowledge of XML and XSLT. XSLT is used to transform the parsed HL7(HL7 XML) into the HDR model.
- Experience utilizing some HL7 tool like messaging work bench and an XML/XSLT tool like XMLSpy.
Years of Experience: 5-8+ years of relevant experience (see "Requirements").
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required (or 8 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
Location: Remote. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting as needed.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
