Senior Illustrator Jobs

Doodles is looking for a super talented Senior Illustrator to join the team at our London or New York stoodios! Working across web and social, the ideal candidate will naturally excel at colouring the world with joy, with a strong eye for detail and dynamic visual storytelling.
As a Senior Illustrator at Doodles, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of Doodles' creative output. Working closely with our Creative Director and Art Director, you will support ongoing projects with a dynamic and engaging level of visual communication, not only adhering to the iconic Doodles style but also pushing the boundaries of creativity within the Doodles world.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with animators & designers across offices, as well as with freelancers both onsite & remote.
• Maintain organized working approach within the Doodles workflow. Meet project deadlines and milestones, while maintaining the highest level of quality and creativity in your work.
• Translate project requirements and concepts into visually appealing illustrations. This includes initial development, storyboarding, character + environment design.
• Create high-quality, original illustrations that align with Doodles' unique style, shape language and brand identity.
• Maintain a strong understanding of current design trends and techniques to enhance the visual appeal of Doodles' projects. Respond to feedback in a professional & timely manner. Provide constructive feedback and input during team meetings and design reviews.

YOU’LL FIND SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience in Adobe CC, especially Illustrator. Comfort using vector tools within an industry-standard illustration software.
• Excellent hand-drawing and sketching skills and the ability to adapt and work within the established Doodles style.
• Familiarity with Graphic Design,UX/UI design principles and an understanding of how illustrations can enhance user experiences.
• Demonstrated experience working with a variety of illustration styles and techniques both print and digital media.
• Authorization to work in the United States or United Kingdom.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• 5 + years of experience within an Animation studio or Design environment.
• Proven experience as an Illustrator, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse character and background art. Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.
• Knowledge of animation principles and the ability to create illustrations with animation in mind.
