Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a SENIOR ENGINEER in Pickens, SC. The SENIOR ENGINEER will directly manage project designs through submittal, providing relevant calculations, and offering support to the field installation team. The candidate should come prepared with an understanding of applicable design code, geotechnical information, project specifications, and blueprints. This position will oversee and provide reports on progress and issues that arise during the project lifecycle under the supervision of the Engineer Manager/VP of Engineering.
Responsibilities Of a SENIOR ENGINEER Includes

• Provide technical support to sales personnel and customers regarding any questions relating to the design, manufacture, delivery, or installation of bridges
• Gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation to officials and making sure that change orders are logged and submitted to personnel throughout the construction process.
• Prepare calculations packages, review submittal and shop drawings for release to the customer, and coordinate letters of conformance as or with the EOR
• Prepare project reports
• Provide direct day to day support and oversight of project elements, with a specific interest in field work and the construction team
• Serve as a liaison between engineering and construction personnel
• Visit sites to take measurements, answer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer.
• Manage Project Workflows
• Use given bridge loadings and site information to provide best-practice superstructure and foundation designs
• Maintain engineering standards, policies, best practices, and procedures at all times
• Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines, and ensure team members stay on task daily in order to meet all deliverables set
• Day to day duties can vary depending on the project needs
• Apply proper standards and specifications such as AASHTO, ACI, AISC, ASCE, DOT, ADM, IBC, and any other structural codes as needed

Job Requirements Of a SENIOR ENGINEER

• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Drafting knowledge; ability to understand site and fabrication drawings
• Knowledge of structural materials and fabrication
• Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software
• Work Authorization/Security Clearance ( if applicable)
• The Company is not able to provide visa sponsorship or relocation at this time
• Ability to work independently and learn quickly
• G-suite software to include Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, Keep, etc.
• Prior experience in structural design is a must. Experience in the bridge industry, applying AASHTO standards is a plus. Experience with structural foundation design is a plus
• Able to sufficiently provide documentation to legally work in the U.S.
• Able to satisfactorily complete a background check, drug test, and reference check.

REQUIRED Experience And Education

• Prior management/supervisory experience
• 5+ year ( s) of experience in Structural Design
• Problem-solving skills
• Project management
