Senior Electrical Design Engineer

We are a leading manufacturer and supplier of Manpack and Fly Away satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals designed and built for the expeditionary user community to guarantee communications connectivity in the most austere environments. We primarily serve Federal and Department of Defense markets.

We currently have an opening for a Senior RF/Electrical Design Engineer in our Clearwater, FL location. The primary function of this position is to provide engineering design, analysis and test of certain high-frequency RF/microwave components and subassemblies used in receive/transmit modules and modem modules.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to set-up, calibrate and operate RF and electrical test equipment and perform measurements on prototype circuits, subassemblies, and modules.
• Participates in continuous improvement and team building activities. Maintains productive working relationships with all team members.
• Ability to design, simulate, analyze and test a variety of analog and radio frequency circuits and components commonly used in SATCOM equipment for land-based or mobile ground stations, like: RF power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, bandpass & lowpass filters, frequency mixers, etc.
• Write technical documents: test procedures, test datasheets, technical memoranda.
• Lead design engineers to verify product performance vs. predictions for prototype products and production hardware products.
• Create electronic circuit schematics and lead PCB Designer to create documentation to manufacture printed wiring assembly (PWAs).
• Lead the RF/electrical product design team in the development of new products or enhance performance of existing products.
• Analyze product failure data and malfunction testing trends, troubleshoot yield issues, and recommend product improvements, including test improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship required.
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical discipline required. MSEE degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire if required
• Experience: 10+ years experience in detailed design, analysis and test of high frequency RF/microwave components used in SATCOM equipment.
• Understands discipline for detailed design synthesis & analysis of RF/microwave circuits, high-frequency software simulation tools, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
