JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Supply Chain is responsible for the Demand Planning, Customer Service and Warehouse in partnership with the Lactalis US Logistic team, adhering to division safety, quality, regulatory preparedness, financial performance, inventory controls, and customer services. Responsible for achieving business targets. The incumbent reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is a member of the executive team. The incumbent will be a key driver in fostering a workplace environment that is consistent with Lactalis Values and that unifies and inspires employees to achieve breakthrough results.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Lead the Supply Chain function and contribution within the company, in partnership with the Lactalis US Logistics team. Implement best practices and manage excellence in the following Supply Chain areas:

-Operations planning: forecasting, demand and supply planning, procurement

-Customer Service: management of customer relationships, service strategy, and service delivery

-Master data management

-Warehouse

  • Partner with the Lactalis US Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure successful delivery of the key projects/initiatives, drive and facilitate change, ensure resourcing and execution to monitoring, control and completion.
  • Focus resources on continuous improvement and cost reduction of the movement of materials through the supply chain process ensuring compliance with all Company and FDA requirements.
  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.
  • Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.
  • Review the financial results of the department, comparing them with the stated objectives and acting appropriately to correct unsatisfactory performance and results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide a holistic and systematic perspective on strategic issues and leverage them to articulate a clear vision of the future.
  • Interact with the global Lactalis team to identify new opportunities and share best practices.
  • Work closely with Lactalis US Logistics team to provide consistent, efficient, and cost-effective transportation services for the business segment.
  • Oversee and update service level agreements with manufacturing/purchasing while managing inventory levels and defining inventory policy and procedures.
  • Provide oversight for the demand and supply planning cycle for the company, ensuring close collaboration between the Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Finance teams.
  • Work with peers to develop contingency plans to address emergency situations and ensure alternate supply sources to avoid interruption of services.


SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to Company safety practices and programs and hold staff accountable for leading safety in the workplace.
  • Proactively work in a safe manner in the context of performing the functions of your position
  • Create a culture of safety within the Supply Chain function and provide leadership and guidance by championing the Safety Committee.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

  • Education may vary, an advanced degree in business or related field is preferred.


Experience:

  • Leadership experience in large complex and integrated companies.
  • Experience in food industry, manufacturing, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company preferred.
  • 15+ years’ broad experience in supply chain management required.


Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to reach agreements in the company's interests & objectives in a long-term sustainable perspective while taking into account multiple factors such as negotiation power, market environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong teams and developing people.
  • Strong relationship management skills with ability to partner with external and internal clients.
  • Working knowledge of quality, regulatory & trade compliance issues as they relate to supply chain.
  • Ability to develop and implement progressive supply chain management programs.
  • Strong project management, planning tools and processes experience.
  • Ability to provide a holistic and systematic perspective on strategic issues and leverage them to articulate and give a clear vision of the future.
  • Ability to analyze data and situations, to identify and study causes/effects and to select appropriate information to make effective decisions.
