As a Senior Director of Marketing and Merchandising, you will work closely with the CEO & Executive Leadership team to propose, develop and implement Marketing & Merchandising strategies that will enable the Company to respond to the changing marketplace. The position requires excellent skills in people leadership, communication, planning, collaboration, and problem-solving. It also requires creative vision, the ability to challenge the status quo, and deep company understanding to drive initiatives across multiple channels. Must have prior experience cultivating retail brand loyalty through unique and inspiring experiences with a customer-centric mindset, including but not limited to customer and industry insights, customer strategy, content strategy, merchandising, media planning and buying, CRM, public/influencer relations, B2B marketing, and customer strategies, e-commerce and website initiative, design, messaging, and front-end user experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead vital marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to translate results into actionable insights for the marketing team
- Responsible for all aspects of the Marketing & Merchandising Departments, 15+ employees
- Lead the development of Public Relations and Editorial strategy with key support partners and key outside Agencies/vendors
- Lead and develop and lead paid media strategy, including digital channels, Omni-channel, social, search, traditional, and new media channels
- Licensing
- Lead and develop e-commerce content and experiences that drive customer engagement and loyalty and act as a tool to provide a seamless customer experience, ultimately connecting the customer to our physical stores
- Lead, develop, and achieve strategic objectives for the Company
- Implement processes and procedures to support development and implementation of approved marketing and merchandising initiatives
- Maintain an awareness of general retail business and fashion trends and incorporate them into decision-making as appropriate
- Lead Marketing and Merchandising presentations during quarterly Board of Directors meetings
- All other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with technology partners to enhance the Company website, systems, and technology;
- Identify both short-term and long-term budget strategies and resource needs that include development and management of vendors, consultants, traffic forecasting, expense analysis, forecasting, and other financial considerations
- Identify and develop store presentation strategies to drive brand and annual business objectives/sales;
- Collaborate with leaders and staff sharing data, experience, and strategies to expand product offerings;
- Lead marketing team to continue building and growing brand guidelines in partnership with key functional areas across the Company
- Lead and drive all customer-facing communication efforts;
- Collaborate with key partners to develop compelling, innovative visual merchandising presentations that engage consumers and drive business growth
- Analyze store performance information to determine areas to improve product productivity through merchandising
- Lead marketing and support efforts to retain and grow B2B customer segment, consistently identifying revenue opportunities within our established client base
- Lead business priorities and overall messaging, content, and user experience for the company website with the objective of using the website as a tool to build brand awareness of the Company, its products, and services
- Participate in the overall leadership and management of the Company as a member of our Senior Executive Team, including discussions regarding strategic, operational, and financial decisions
- Lead and collaborate with the business team to uncover insights and strategies to develop and implement marketing and branding strategies for new and existing products both internally and externally
- Lead and drive sales growth, e-commerce, store traffic growth, customer engagement online, and continued growth of The Tile Shop brand
- Ownership of multi-million-dollar budgets for both the marketing and merchandising departments
- Lead quarterly insight efforts on customer demand, customer behavior, and customer insights
- Lead development and strategy for product marketing support strategies, including new product launches and go-to-marketing strategies
- Partner closely with Pro Marketing Team to manage effective schedules, campaign structures, targeting, and goals
- Partner with the CIO to support technology initiatives that help create an enhanced customer experience or customer insights
- Collaborate with multiple departments to continue to evolve and develop our product sampling program
- 10+ years leading business objectives for a retailer and/or business-to-business customer segment
- 10+ years in managing or leading digital media strategies for multiple channels and mediums
- Critical thinker who values the work they create
- 10+ years managing multi-million-dollar budget
- Uses sound judgment
- Resilient and adaptable under pressure in a fast past environment
- Great time management and multi-tasking skills
- Advanced knowledge of digital media KPIs
- Advanced/Intermediate Excel knowledge
- 10+ years’ experience building or growing an Omni-channel brand
- Customer-first mindset
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communicator
- Willing to work hard with the team and collaborate cross-functionally
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field
- 10+ years leading, coaching, and developing a team
Hybrid Work Policy
