Senior Director of Marketing

Reports to: Vice President of Communications

Status: Full-Time

Soccer Holdings, LLC., is the parent company of professional soccer clubs Louisville City FC (USL Championship) and Racing Louisville FC (NWSL). Both teams call Lynn Family Stadium in the Butchertown neighborhood home and operate out of the nearby Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center.Louisville City launched in 2015 and quickly established a winning tradition, claiming USL titles in 2017 and 2018.Racing Louisville FC joined the NWSL as an expansion member in 2021, bringing top-tier professional sports back to Kentucky for the first time in nearly 50 years.

Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Marketing will lead the marketing activities for all Soccer Holdings, LLC entities (Louisville City FC, Racing Louisville FC, Louisville City Academy, Racing Louisville Academy, Lynn Family Stadium, and Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center).This position is responsible for the overall strategic planning and execution of advertising, promotions, events, personnel, and the departmental budget. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of soccer culture, revenue generation, and a creative mind to help achieve the Club’s marketing goals.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay, benefits, and paid time off. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed for games and other events.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for developing, leading, and communicating the Club’s 360-degree marketing strategy.
  • Manages & provides guidance for all departmental staff, including graphic designers and community engagement.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless alignment with brand strategy.
  • Responsible for developing/executing media buying strategy + placement and tracking results/ROI.
  • Oversees all promotional and advertising elements of revenue-generating marketing ticket programs including digital, print, broadcast, direct mail, email, web, and social media.
  • Leads development and production of promotional products, deals, and tie-ins for partnership fulfillment and fan giveaways.
  • Works with internal departments to ensure the marketing and creative needs are fulfilled as requested.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and executing marketing, fan engagement, and promotional activities and events.
  • Oversees the relationship between the Club and its merchandise vendor.
  • Ownership of match day production and fan experience.
  • Oversees the departmental budget as well as projecting/forecasting expenditures.
  • Management of all creative projects produced by the marketing department; looks for ways to raise brand awareness through emerging trends in marketing and brands.
  • Develops marketing partnerships and trade agreements.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional creative abilities and critical thinking that push the envelope and develop and implement fresh ideas.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing. Agency experience is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing, ticketing support, partnership activations, media buying, promotions, event planning, digital media, social media, multicultural marketing, and the overall creative process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing multiple personnel, projects, and timelines.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment comprehensive background check.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare a budget and project/forecast marketing program costs based on industry and historical data.
  • Must be legally authorized or able to obtain authorization to work in the US.
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
