Senior Data Architect Jobs

We have an immediate need for a data architect with Azure data platform expertise. Initial focus will be on architecture design patterns and architecture development for a significant data platform modernization effort. Candidates must be design focused and adept at evaluating platform needs by understanding existing and future data producers through to data consumption perspectives with the ability to provide sufficient technical detail to inform downstream build projects. The data architect will work closely with internal and external architects and data engineers along with key business (including highly technical) stakeholders to achieve goals. Candidates should be U.S. citizen or have a valid work permit.
Key Accountabilities Collaborate with the business and technical teams to understand the overall requirements and be responsible for incorporating platform needs.Create a robust, extensible architecture to meet the business requirements Translate the business requirements into technical artifactsResearch, analyze, and recommend technical tools and best practices that best meet business requirementsDesign end-to-end solutions along with data strategy, including standards, principles, data sources, storage, pipelines, data flow, and data security policiesCollaborate with data engineers, infrastructure engineer, security specialists, and other stakeholders to execute the data strategyPerform data analysis to understand the relevant data setsDefine the right security and access policiesDefine the right data distribution/consumption pattern for downstream systems and consumersPerform code reviews and ensure deliverables meet architecture standardsWork with DevOps team to continually improve CI/CD processesProactively identify the performance bottlenecks and propose corrective actionsDesign and develop reusable frameworksAdvise on data analytics projects and product roadmapWork with product owner and scrum master to prioritize work for each sprint to meet project milestones and deadlinesClosely monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the leadership teams on milestones, impediments, etc.
Required ExperienceOverall 7+ years of IT experience and minimum 5 years of experience as an Architect on Data & Analytics solutions.Minimum 3+ years of experience working in the Azure public cloud platform.Highly proficient in Azure Synapse and a strong understanding of database and data warehouse conceptsStrong understanding of ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics SQL Pools, Databricks, Power BI, Azure security model, etc.Solid understanding of metadata management and data governance toolsWell-versed with batch (extract) and streaming data loads.Ability to architect data solutions aligned with the strategic technology roadmap and emerging industry trends.Expert on data modelling, data access patterns, virtualization, and SQL.Knowledge of cost management, infrastructure planning, and disaster recovery.Experience working in migration projects, migrating from on-prem to AzureAbility to work closely with cross-functional teamsExcellent communication (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrate thought leadership and ability to guide / mentor team members and create technical artifacts.Experience in creating Azure Data Factory pipelines leveraging data movement activities, data transformation activities like Data Flow, Stored Procedure, Custom Activity, AzureFunctions, etc., and Control Flow Activities like web activity, lookup activity, etc. Experience with data integration through APIs, Web Services, SOAP, and/or REST servicesExperience with CI/CD orchestration and Agile tools and processes, such as Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence Preferred Qualifications Experience in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models.Experience in large scale warehouse migration from on-prem to cloud is plusExperience in financial and pension industry is plusMicrosoft Azure certifications are a plus
