About The Role


The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and executing advanced accounting functions, such as financial statement analysis, month-end and year-end closings, tax compliance, internal auditing, accounting research and memoing, and leading process improvement initiatives. You will provide guidance to junior members of the accounting team. Ideally, this role will be based in our Boise headquarters, but we are open to fully remote options for exceptionally qualified candidates.


What You’ll Do


  • Demonstrates the Clēnera Core Values of Caring, Committed, and Courageous
  • Inspect complex contracts for accounting requirements and ensure accounting entries and reports agree with applicable contracts, while recommending solutions for discrepancies
  • Be primary contact for recurring discussion during annual audits
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Primarily review, but will occasionally prepare journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end close activities
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with preparation of federal, state, and local tax compliance and/or quarterly HLBV entries
  • Review and confirm consolidated financial statements for investors, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization
  • Perform position-specific responsibilities for accounting and period close in a timely and accurate manner. Assigned tasks may include managing solar projects, holding companies and consolidations, preparing financials including ME and CF Statements, revenue recognition, distributions, quarterly HLBV calculations, acquisition accounting framework, and letter of credit calculations
  • Independently and confidently prepares and reviews a variety of financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with accounting policies, GAAP, company procedures, and any other applicable regulatory standards within a complex organizational/partnership structure
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables
  • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities


Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Public Accountant
  • Preferred experience in public accounting
  • Skills/Attributes:
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines and projects
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong, proven ability to effectively do accounting research for complex transactions.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant with industry knowledge
  • Ability to analyze complex data and situations to make decisions
  • Exceptional organizational skills and time management
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent years of experience
