Your role at Sephora:
As a Senior Accountant on the Merchandise Payables Accounting (MAP) team, you will be responsible for supporting the payables process for all merchandise purchases, including processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, responding to internal and external general payables inquires/requests, along with preparing journal entries for month-end financial close.


Reporting to the MAP Accounting Manager, you will be directly involved in the full-cycle AP process for merchandising and month-end financial close.


In addition, you will:

  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Demonstrate our Sephora values of Passion for Client Service, Innovation, Expertise, Balance, Respect for All, Teamwork, and Initiative.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and accounting research as necessary
  • Lead vendor dispute process by managing online portal and vendor inquiries
  • Assist in month-end close, preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconcile statements from intercompany groups to ensure statements are current
  • Prepare and assist with audit confirmations
  • Work with the merchandising team to assist with onboarding for new vendors in a timely manner
  • Lead vendor-facing meetings to address concerns such as past due/open invoices, chargebacks, and any issues related to the account
  • Support the Sephora @ Kohl’s collaboration by reviewing and approving reconciliations as prepared by offshore team


We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 5+ years of AP/accounting experience, especially with preparing journal entries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Prior experience with merchandise/purchase order process is a plus
  • Proficiency with SAP general ledger a plus
  • Ability to handle high volume of emails/requests and prioritize tasks as needed
  • Ability to pick up responsibilities quickly and work with limited direction
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and complex Excel spreadsheets with formulas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as a team member

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,500.00 - $118,500.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
