The Opportunity:

Denali is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to enhance the Company's finance function and become a key part of the team as we grow to support the business. The
Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for maintaining various aspects of general ledger, including but not limited to G&A and R&D expense, fixed assets and balance sheet
reconciliations.

You will also play a key role in supporting the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, as well as, supporting a strong internal controls process in our growing company. You will be part of the Corporate Finance department and an individual contributor reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Document new and update existing accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with system and software implementations as needed
• Support annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors
• Work with business partners to generate significant estimates in the financial statements related to R&D activities
• Be able to execute on special projects and across various functions as needed
• Support the development and implementation of internal controls and ensure SOX 404 compliance
• Prepare analysis and reporting for a variety of financial reports for various internal and external stakeholders
• Support accounts payable cycle function to ensure that all payments are processed on time, according to company policy
• Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process, which includes preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of professional accounting experience
• Strong financial reporting and accounting skills and knowledge
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
• Assumes personal ownership and accountability for business results and solutions
• Hands on experience of supporting monthly, quarterly and annual accounting cycles
• Plan and organize work so that timelines are met or exceeded

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA and Big 4 experience
• Experience in a pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry

Salary Range: $135,000 -$161,667. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
