Seeking Veterinary Tech Assistant

VCA Laurelhurst Animal Hospital located in NE Portland, Oregon is looking for Experienced Veterinary Assistants to join their 6-doctor Small Animal Practice!

We are looking for experienced (1 year minimum) or certified Veterinary Assistants to provide excellent patient care with a focus on wellness and client education. Veterinary Assistants are responsible for preparing exam rooms for the doctors and assist in providing care for the patients hospitalized in the treatment area.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. Flexible scheduling. Typically, 4/10’s

Compensation: $21-24 / hour. Pay dependent on experience

VCA Laurelhurst Animal Hospital is a growing and vibrant 6 doctor, AAHA accredited, small animal practice located in the Laurelhurst area of NE Portland. We have been serving the Laurelhurst community and surrounding area for many years. We are a fast paced, modern, paperless hospital that provides wellness and preventative care, acupuncture, advanced nursing care, digital radiology, ultrasonography, surgery, dentistry, hospitalization, client education and much more.

As a member of the VCA Laurelhurst team, you will support the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
• Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed in the treatment area.
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Maintaining medical records.
• Providing compassionate care and assistance for our hospitalized animals.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
