POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Security Manager, the Security Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of the NTT Data Center physical infrastructure, equipment, and personnel. The Security Supervisor will work closely with the Data Center Operations Team (DCOPS) to ensure that security measures are in place and functioning properly. The Security Supervisor will provide strategic guidance and operational leadersip to a team of dedicated Security Officers L1-L3 as well as Shipping and Receivieng Officers.

The Security Supervisor will oversee and maintain access control systems, alarms, and surveillance platforms, arrange for extra protection for key employees, specifically executives or other high risk individuals. The Security Supervsior will develop, implement, and maintains security procedures based on policies determined by NTT GDC Americas Security Senior Management to meet required codes and regulations. The Security Supervisor will analyze loss control, incident reports, coordinate and administer security clearances, prepare and maintain all required security manuals in accordance with the appropriate external and interdepartmental parties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervises security guards; duties include planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel, interviewing applicants for employment, approving time sheets, and recommending corrective action.
  • Prepares and reviews periodic security reports to Clients and internal department heads.
  • Organizes and conducts predetermined actions and renders first aid in emergencies such as accident, fire and illness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices. Identify areas for improvement and implement innovative security solutions to enhance the data center's security posture.
  • Ensures security patrol priorities are followed based on company policy or client requirements.
  • Directly supervises our in-house security team members at the Security Officer L1-L3 levels, and Shipping & Receiving Officer L1-L2.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, and regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.
  • Establishes and administers the necessary policies and procedures to accomplish key responsibilities.
  • Administers and supervises all security operations to insure the safety of NTT GDC Americas, Inc. personnel, guests, and customers as well as protecting our properties from unauthorized access, sabotage, vandalism or theft.
  • Incident Management: Act as the point of contact during security incidents, assist with investigations, gather evidence, and prepare incident reports. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve incidents effectively.
  • Administers the operation of all security related systems: access control, CCTV, digital video recording, photo badging, etc.
  • Orders, maintains and ensures that all Security Officers meet all RDC Grooming and Uniform Standards.
  • Manages the procurement of essential equipment spares and office supplies. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels, ensuring all required resources are readily available to support the team’s effective performance and daily operations.
  • Educates team members on unique requirements for individual clients.
  • Reviews utilization and maintenance of security equipment.
  • Maintains and recommends changes or improvements in the software recordkeeping system for security officer activities.
  • Security Protocols and Procedures: Develop, implement, and enforce security protocols, policies, and procedures to safeguard the data center, its assets, and personnel.Coach, direct, and enforces security policies and safety regulations at the assigned work sites.
  • Responsible for maintaining positive client/security relationships through client audits and shipping/logistics support.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with security service providers and vendors, ensuring they deliver quality services and meet contractual obligations.
  • Recommends ways to improve security and or correct department function.
  • Coordinates Security vendor onboarding indoctrination training and support with Deployment Services team and Critical Facilities Operations team.
  • Manages assigned security related projects with satisfactory completion

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven experience in security management, preferably in a data center or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards related to data center security, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems, access control, surveillance technologies, and incident response procedures.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels and effectively communicate security policies and procedures.
  • Occupational hazards and safety rules.
  • Standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security team.
  • Proficient in using security technologies and computer systems, including access control systems, CCTV, and incident management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.

What will make you a good fit for the role?

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of the Security Supervisor Professional Development Program, or completion within the first 6 months after promotion.
  • Must be a Security Officer Level2, Security Officer Level3, or a Shipping & Receiving Officer Level 2 for a minimum of 6 months for consideration (Internal Candidates)
  • Minimum three years of experience in law enforcement, industrial or governmental security or an equivalent combination of same.
  • Preferred experience of two to three years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred.
  • Associates or bachelors degree preferred (this can be waived in lieu of a combination of experience & occupational training/certifications). Law-Enforcement and/or Military Schooling a plus
  • High School or GED required.
  • Must have experience in the administration and operation of: access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo ID systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires ability to make patrols of building.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
  • Requires an employee to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • May require occasional travel to NTT GDCA campuses.
  • Must carry a cell phone for availability during assigned shift and emergency situations
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and on-call support.
  • Must work on-site; no telecommuting.
  • Exposure to all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast paced environment shifting priorities
  • Data Center environment with varying temperatures and loud noises
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required (may be obtained within 6 months of employment)
  • Exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors and hazardous work environments.
  • Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer

This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $83,000 - $104,000.

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
