Job Description
Position Summary
The Security Supervisor is responsible for the management and performance of the Security team. Under the supervision of the Sr. Security & Safety Manger, this position provides oversight, direction and supervision of all matters related to safety and security of the general public, employees, guests and visitors of ASM Tulsa and surrounding property. Also coordinates and supervises specific event-related security as required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversees all security and safety in such a manner as to ensure the highest possible level of security, safety and comfort to all patrons and employees.
  • Conducts investigations related to security incidents, loss prevention issues, or other facility/company issues.
  • Supervise maintenance of log book of security cage items.
  • Attend events deemed necessary by ASM GLOBAL Leadership. This could include, but not limited to, events where a safety or security risk is elevated and/or events where severe weather is forecasted for the local area.
  • Attend department meetings and weekly staff meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all of the other departments.
  • Participate in training programs (fire drills, shelter in place, active shooter, and evacuation in place) for full-time and part-time employees to increase awareness of safety and security issues, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and trains security staff on emergency procedures including but not limited to fire safety, severe weather threat, and active shooter.
  • Handle complaints, disturbances or related problems with the public, staff or promoters.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned to support company and/or facility goals.
  • Work extended and or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Gain control over unusual circumstances caused by fire, storms, riots and other emergencies.
  • Responsible for all deliveries on any dock of ASM Tulsa facilities.
  • Investigate, report and provide follow-up to management on incidents including damage or injury to the facility or individuals.
  • Serves as liaison and works closely with event organizers, show managers and show contractors, and staff in all matters involving show security/traffic and safety. Meets with event organizers, show managers, contractors and staff as necessary. Plans and implements all security, safety, and traffic needs of shows as necessary and develops cost estimates for security services. Works with all entities to ensure effective operation and adherence to security policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Adopts a customer service philosophy and public relations approach to the performance of all duties. Establishes and promotes this philosophy with department staff.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with police, fire watch, EMS and other security personnel and/or safety organizations. Schedules security personnel as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Schedule guards and building monitors for day-to-day operations and special events. Continue to adjust and update work schedules to reflect cost efficiency and building activity.
  • Provides input and maintains security and safety policies, programs, and standard operation procedures to protect and minimize facility liability exposures and losses.
  • Responsible for monitoring security systems, & key control issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Ensures proper training and development programs for security staff to ensure ongoing improvement and professional growth.
  • Responsible for planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources department; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Train and maintain standards for guards and other personnel in protective procedures, first aid, fire safety and other emergency procedures.
  • Keeps subordinate personnel adequately informed of performance expectations and handles employee concerns or union grievances in a timely and impartial manner.
Qualifications

Education And/or Experience
  • Police and/or law enforcement background preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of three years of responsible management experience in security or law enforcement, with demonstrated responsibility for security, safety, investigations and asset and infrastructure protection.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • CPR certification and other emergency/life-saving techniques.
  • Possess any appropriate licenses as required by State.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • CLEET Certification preferred but not required.
Skills And Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as skills in labor and interpersonal relations.
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles and techniques of planning, implementing and supervising a facility security force. Possess knowledge of security issues related to a major sports and entertainment venue.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations, court decisions and ordinances that affect security operations.
  • Required to speak and understand basic English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, Gator, pallet jacks, forklifts, genie lifts, carts fire extinguishers or other light power driven equipment.
  • Operate portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and fax machine.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Handle conflicts, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required
  • Solid knowledge of the problems, issues, philosophies, principles, tactics, and procedures related to the management of security and safety services.
Computer Skills
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Office and other standard office equipment.

  • This position requires minimal stooping and lifting, but substantial walking.
