Security Specialist

Salary: $28.25 per hourly

Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance (Required) .

JOB SUMMARY

Primary job function is providing support in functional areas of Industrial Security Administration. Assist Facility Security Officer (FSO) with all facets of industrial security in compliance with company policies, the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) requirements and other government agencies. Responsible for administrative security duties, such as visitor processing, badge requests, security awareness and education and briefings, and file maintenance. May be tasked with general administrative duties to involve generating reports, copying and filing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with maintenance of the badging system for employees and visitors, as well as visitor controls and processing.
  • Initiates processing of and conducts pre-employment background screenings (including third country nationals), processes security clearance paperwork, collects and reviews relevant documents and information for completeness and consistency, and activates all clearances to installations.
  • Creates and maintains personnel security records and databases, including quality assurance and control of the fingerprinting process; audits the internal database and filling systems, provides acceptance from all Federal agencies, and tracks all Department of Defense security clearances.
  • Prepares, tracks, and monitors all classified contracts and Department of Defense Contract Security Classification Specification forms assigned to facility; monitors and ensures efficient protocol to all contractors and personnel; and assesses all contract documentations and files.
  • Assist with administration of security education and awareness program policies and procedures ensuring compliance with government customer regulations to include; Insider Threat, OPSEC and COMSEC programs, to include maintenance of security training records.
  • Assist with processes to: maintain security records, manage document control database for classified, conduct end of day safe checks and periodic seal checks, conduct facility security verifications, conduct periodic self-inspections, obtain and maintain Personnel Clearances (PCL), and submit outgoing visit authorizations.
  • Assist with ensuring all classified material is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, safeguarded, and destroyed in accordance with the NISPOM and contractual requirements.
  • Assists FSO in preparation of facility for required audits and vulnerability assessments conducted by various government agencies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to prioritize work functions and complete tasks independently on schedule
  • Familiarity or experience with DISS and security clearance coordination process
  • Working knowledge of DISS, OPM, and e-QIP. Experience in Submitting, confirming, and tracking Visit Requests.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (Required)
  • Experience and working knowledge of NISPOM industrials security and personnel security requirements
  • Experience coordinating the security clearance process
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Check/Drug Screen
  • Associate degree (Additional experience may be used to substitute education)
