Security Service Technicians perform commercial security system commissioning, service, and maintenance, ensuring that all systems and components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer. The right candidate will work well with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity. This position reports to the local Supervisor and takes direction from a mentor and the Lead Technician.

As a Security Service Technician, you will:

• Coordinate startup services as needed; participates in the coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel; primary support is programming of card access and CCTV for these types of installations.
• Participate in the set up and configuration of PC workstations, user interfaces; card access and CCTV data servers and working with the local IT department on IP Networking devices, protocols, routers, switches, mass storage devices and hubs.
• Operational Testing, Verification and Acceptance: Runs reports to analyze system operation, works with customer to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work, assures customer acceptance; trains customers on system operations. Completes and submits routine written reports; performs site walks and provides written data back to sales for job quotes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations; contacts Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for technical support as/when needed; acts towards resolution of issues; refers complex matters to supervisor as needed.
• Network Technologies: Work in troubleshooting of card access database, hardware and that programming is consistent with scope of work for the intended integration and sequence; backs up data from data servers and/or creates automated backup procedure.
• Implement and/or performs security service for new and existing equipment installation or system repairs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Computer and networking; understanding VMware, networking, and routing required
• Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment; working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions
• 5+ years experience installing and servicing Access Control and CCTV security systems
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to read and understand design and construction documents
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
• Understanding of basic workstation and server operating system management
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
• High school diploma or state-recognized GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in electronics
• Experience with Software House CCure, Genetec and/or other major brands
• 8+ years experience installing and servicing Access Control and CCTV security systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• The pay range for this position is $59,700 – $110,900 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
