Location


Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary


Provides personal, equipment and real property security for faculty, staff, students and visitors within an assigned area of the University campus and community. Performs routine patrols to assist in providing a safer campus environment. Responsible for warning violators of rule infractions and assists with traffic and parking violations. Serves as a Campus Security Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).

Responsibilities


1. Performs active and routine patrols (foot, bicycle or vehicle) of all campus areas according to established guidelines

2. Provides regular surveillance of campus properties, including locking and unlocking buildings according to designated schedules

3. Enforces University rules and regulations

4. Assists with traffic and parking violations

5. Serves as a knowledgeable resource to students, staff and visitors providing directions and current campus event information

6. Creates written reports and other documentation as necessary (i.e. patrol logs, incident reports, parking surveys, etc.)

7. Provides outreach to campus community and establishes relationships with students, faculty and staff in order to foster trust with public safety

8. Pursues additional knowledge, training and skills relating to job performance

9. Functions as public safety first responder for non-criminal incidents, and performs support roles to sworn police officers


Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license

CPR, AED and basic first aid procedures

ABILITIES
Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel Able to handle multiple projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines Ability to successfully conduct security patrols without direct supervision Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of current procedures regarding FEMA NIMS, ICS, and CERT protocols Knowledge of public security codes, policies, and regulations
SKILLS
Skill in providing protection services to individuals on campus Skill in performing building security and lock procedures Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette
