GENERAL SUMMARY: Security Officers (SO) will be located in the front lobbies of buildings A, B, C and D and will be responsible for facilitating the safe flow of patients and visitors in and out of the facility. SOs protect life and property and ensures the safety and security of Sibley Memorial Hospital staff, patients, and visitors through adherence to department policies and procedures. SOs effectively execute duties and responsibilities, maintaining and utilizing successful interpersonal and customer service skills. The SO will ensure that customers are greeted upon entry into the facility and are treated in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of D.C. Security Officer License.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the field of law enforcement and/or security management.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be certified in CPR or obtain certification within 30 days of employment and maintain active CPR certification throughout employment at Sibley Hospital.
