Job Description
Responsible for properly executing security duties on assigned shift, to adequately protect the life and property of guests, associates and the company’s property.



Pearl River Resort Associates are required, on a continual basis to…



Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.


Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.


Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.


  • Interacts with guests and Associates in a positive, professional manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Accepts identification from all persons who appear to be under the legal age, to ensure compliance with tribal, state and federal gaming regulations.
  • Generates necessary written reports regarding security-related incidents involving guests, Associates and/or the facility.
  • Promotes a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction in the department.
  • Operates company vehicles as directed to do so.
  • Interact, escort and observe guests and Associates, to ensure their safety and protection; identifies potential safety hazards and report same to the appropriate individual
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Observe player actions and associate procedures for irregularities and exceptions.
  • Render basic First Aid to all guests and associates of the Pearl River Resort, as required.
  • Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction throughout the property is achieved and maintained.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with the Choctaw Gaming Commission Regulations, internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures and written policies and procedures affecting the protection and safeguarding of all property assets at the Pearl River Resort.
  • Acts as a Dispatcher during emergency situations, and coordinates solutions to same; informs outside agencies of any unusual or suspicious situations on property.
  • Interact with guests and associates in a professional manner.
  • Participate in resolving customer disputes with department managers, as required.
  • Ensures safe transportation of company moneys and gaming tokens; assists in the slot drop and table games drop to ensure assets are protected.

AGE and GAMING


21 years of age or above


Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High School diploma or GED is required. Previous experience in casino security, law enforcement, corrections, industrial or private security is preferred. Honorable discharge from the Armed Forces will be considered - a DD214 will be required. Experience as a firefighter or volunteer firefighter may be accepted.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS


Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must complete Incident Management System course within one (1) year of employment.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other associates of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY


Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following Safely lift and/or move up to eighty (80) pounds on occasions as well stand and walk for 100% of assigned shift. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Must successfully complete PPCT (Pressure Point Control Techniques), Conflict Resolution Training, and all other training offered by the Security Department. Must be willing to be involved in volatile situations.


WORK ENVIRONMENT


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.


Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.


Responsible for greeting incoming and departing guests with a warm and friendly smile and eye contact, escort them to assigned dining area. Providing the Guests with a delightful dining experience from the initial reception until the final good-bye in accordance with the Company’s high standards of Guest Service.


  • Responsible for initial cordial reception to the Guests upon arrival and the prompt courteous escort to a dining table.
  • Assists other restaurant personnel with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Assists in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Advises Guests of waiting time and recommend beverage outlets to Guests.
  • Responsible for seating Guests according to established rotation procedure distribute menus and explain the food items.
  • Verifies reservations, if required, before seating Guests.
  • Responsible for answering telephones and making reservations, if required.
  • Attempt to resolve all guest complaints when possible or ensure that the Restaurant Manager/Shift Supervisor is immediately contacted to address the guest’s issues, concerns or request
  • Maintain a good working relationship and provide daily detailed communications with the Restaurant Manager, the Food Shift Supervisors, Food and Beverages Leaders and other co-workers in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. C.A.R.E. (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively) certified before starting to work. All candidates must successfully complete the class and obtain a test score of 84% or higher.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees and one on one.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


Essential responsibilities include moderate to heavy physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least forty (40) pounds, and standing/walking 100% of the shift. Perform position responsibilities and/or essential functions on slippery or wet surfaces. Bending, stooping and stretching of arms during assigned shift.
