Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly

Shift: 12 Hour Panama Schedule

We are looking to hire a Security Control Room Officer to join our team in the Columbia, MD area, where we provide data center security solutions that protect client applications and data from increasingly sophisticated threats and global attacks.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Security Control Room Officer is a steward of our data center security operations. Your attention to detail, mission focus, and ability to multi-task make you the most critical piece of PGI’s comprehensive data center security design. Your duties in the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform testing and other inspection services related to access control including performing routine inspections and testing of alarms, locks, doors, monitoring systems and other access control mechanisms.
  • Experience in access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection software applications
  • Prevent theft of physical or intellectual property
  • Assist in promoting communication and awareness of data center security policies to client employees, vendors, contractors, and others.
  • Assist in controlling physical and electronic locks and unlocking and locking doors and areas.
  • Respond to alarms in accordance with established post orders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Report or respond to incidents, security, and safety concerns in accordance with established post orders.
  • Maintain standards of Non-Commissioned Security Officer competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity, including compliance with PGI and the Client’s Code of Conduct and Uniform Policy
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve knowledge of written and oral post orders, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
  • Provide security protection for all Client and PGI personnel and property within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Execute and deliver various reports as assigned by the Site Manager
  • Complete and maintain pre-assignment, client, State, and PGI sustainment training as directed.
  • Prevent all unauthorized access by enforcing all Client and PGI policies including implementing and enforcing badging policies, controlling physical locks and keys, and inspecting persons and equipment.
  • Position has ongoing training requirements, many of them to be completed in an online environment.
  • Monitor security camera and other electronic surveillance systems.


Required Qualifications
:

  • Must possess strong ability to learn new technology systems and programs. Ability to troubleshoot and work through user level issues with technology platforms and applications.
  • Must have firm grasp on the use and implementation of technology, programs, and applications on data bearing devices.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and periodic random drug screening.
  • Must have reliable transportation during all seasons.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of security, or one year of local, state, or federal law enforcement experience; or A minimum of two (2) years of honorable military service, active or reserve, in any branch of the US Armed Forces
  • Must have High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional communication via verbal, written, and email correspondence in English.
  • A minimum of 21 years of age
  • Ability to complete Maryland State Police Security Guard Certification including the application process, fingerprints, and background investigation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Maryland State Police issued Security Guard Certification
  • Four (4) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
  • Current Maryland State Police issued Wear and Carry Permit
  • Demonstrated history of safe and successful security operations experience in highly secure facilities


Clearance
:

  • This position requires a minimum of a US Government Top Secret (TS) security clearance with poly.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, walking long distances on a training facility, and operate equipment.
  • Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functions.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, and waist.
  • Must be physically capable of standing a 12-hour post.
