Job Description
Overview


The Park Attendant is a seasonal position from late May through early September . The Attendant interacts with owners and guests throughout the day, distributing play equipment, monitoring park activities and inspecting facilities . The Attendant primarily works out of a small recreation building that provides an indoor workspace and equipment storage but should expect to be outside for a significant portion of the day . This position will average about 32 hours a week.

Responsibilities


  • Opening and closing the Recreation Cabin each day
  • Approximately 50% of time is spent outdoors
  • Setting up and taking down equipment such as volleyball nets and umbrellas
  • Assisting Park visitors, many of whom are children, with play and sporting equipment check-out
  • Conducting daily playground safety inspections
  • Requires physical activity throughout the day
  • Frequent interaction with guests, including children
  • Periodic inspection and cleaning of park restrooms
  • Completing a daily park use report
  • Works independently
  • Keeping the Recreation cabin clean and organized
  • Assuring compliance with park rules
  • Assisting groups with facilities reservations


Qualifications


  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to walk circuits around the park several times a day (approx. 1/2 mile each)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to resolve problems
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, courteous individuals required
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification ( assistance can be provided)
  • Experience interacting with children
  • Availabilty to work a flexible scheduled including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Agility and flexibility to climb around and into playground installations for inspections
