The Opportunity

Do you want to find solutions to complex challenges in a Research environment? CSL Seqirus has an exciting opportunity to join the growing team at our Research center in the Waltham, MA area. With expertise in influenza science, our team works on the latest research, pioneering technologies in influenza vaccines. We continue to explore novel concepts for longer term transformational approaches to influenza protection. We operate as one integrated global research and development organization, drawing together expert staff from different countries to collaborate with us. Together, we're working to protect communities from seasonal influenza and global pandemic threats.

As the Scientific Associate in the Biochemistry group, you will work with senior scientists to develop the recombinant protein vaccine for many infectious diseases. You will be responsible for recombinant protein production using mammalian cell culture and support the recombinant protein purification to develop the protein vaccine with high quality. You will also work with project leads to support new vaccine development.

The Role

• Work collaboratively to develop experimental protocols in protein biochemistry to support process improvements
• Work with others within and across departments
• Will take the primary responsibility for all aspects of mammalian cell culture to meet the demands of multiple projects within Biochemistry group
• Perform the basic laboratory protocols, including data analysis
• Support the recombinant protein vaccine purification
• Support the stable CHO cell line development
• Support bench lab work and support the study design to facilitate the recombinant protein vaccine production
• Present data in the context of the project at multi-function meetings
• Make technical, strategic contributions to development project teams
• Maintain functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulation

Your Skills And Experience

• Excellent record keeping skills
• 2+ years with Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry other relevant area and scientific experience
• Demonstrate time and resource management and teamwork
• Stay updated on new, relevant technologies and published literature to support innovation with the team
• Experience with protein purification equipment, e.g., AKTA system is advantageous
• Experience with mammalian cell culture process is advantageous
