Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Remote
  • Columbus, OH
  • Short-Term Contract (<6 Months)
  • Full-Time – Benefits eligible

Our client in the educational materials industry is seeking a Science writer to craft meaningful instruction to deepen the understanding of certain concepts. Middle – High School Professional Experience preferred.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

  • This client’s products are sold in over 5,000 higher education institutions and 13,000 k-12 school districts across the country
  • One of America’s biggest educational learning companies

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design scaffolded instruction to develop student conceptual understanding
  • Maintain and meet all intermediate and final schedules
  • Write and review phenomenon-driven instruction for a variety of science concepts and grade levels
  • Write assessment items
  • Collaborate with team members, including writers and editors, to produce high-quality, content that complements standards
  • Craft engaging and meaningful digital instruction for a variety of text and media types that deepens understanding of concepts and develops literacy skills for diverse learners

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of NGSS performance expectations
  • A degree in a science discipline
  • Excellent written communication skills, including a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing, and grammar
  • Experience writing standardized test questions
  • Demonstrate strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with/in educational technology preferred
  • Must be available for communication during regular business hours
  • Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback

BONUS SKILLS:

  • Middle – High School Professional Experience
