School Social Worker Jobs

Kaleidoscope Wellness and Education Group was founded to ensure that children and youth, especially those who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+ or another underserved and marginalized group, are afforded the opportunity to self actualize. Kaleidoscope celebrates the whole person and increases children, youth, and their family’s ability to thrive by:

• Linking clients to licensed mental health therapists who are just as diverse as they are.
• Offering psychological and academic strategies; and,
• Providing psychoeducation to include how trauma and mental illness impact school performance;

Kaleidoscope removes the boundaries that prevent clients from celebrating everything that makes them, them.We exist to afford clients the tools they need to live abundantly by providing strategies and skills to help them effectively address the difficulties that prevent them functioning optimally day-to-day.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Kaleidoscope is currently hiring contractors to support students in schools. School Social Workers will:

• Provide counseling;
• Provide timely documentation of therapy sessions and other supportive services;
• Leverage technology to meet student and family need; and,
• Partner with schools to meet the wholistic wellness of students:
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Enjoy the benefits of a community of support including an online community, technical support, and access to professional development resources;
• Set their own schedules;
• Utilize our proprietary platform built for teletherapy and other client interactions;
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to help schools make educational decisions for clients;
• Provide case management services;

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must:

• Internship experience will be considered
• Have 1 year of experience providing direct services/counseling in a school setting; and,
• Be a licensed social worker in the state of MD;
• Pass a comprehensive background check.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have experience:

• As a direct member of IEP teams;
• Conducting social histories and functional behavioral assessments.
• Creating IEP goals or knowledge of IEP goals; and

Additional Information

A provider's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. Hourly pay will range between $30 - $45 per hour.
