School Psychologist


Location: Rockwall, Texas


Pay: $45/hour


Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team in Rockwall, Texas. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in promoting the academic success, mental well-being, and overall development of students within our school district. Your expertise in psychological assessments, counseling, and consultation will contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.


Responsibilities


  • Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for appropriate educational interventions, accommodations, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions to students individually or in small groups to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Support the development and implementation of positive behavior support plans and strategies to promote a safe and inclusive school climate.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and specific learning needs.
  • Assist in the prevention and management of crisis situations within the school setting, offering immediate support and intervention when necessary.
  • Consult with teachers and other educational staff to provide guidance on effective instructional practices, classroom management techniques, and student support strategies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, review interventions, and collaborate on effective intervention plans.
  • Provide training and professional development to school staff on topics such as mental health awareness, crisis intervention, and behavior management strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research, best practices, and relevant legislation related to school psychology and special education.


Qualifications


  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational setting (preferred).
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in Texas (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Understanding of special education laws, regulations, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based counseling techniques and intervention strategies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines outlined by relevant professional organizations (e.g., National Association of School Psychologists).
  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting assessment results to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
