Job Description

Under the supervision of regional psychologist, Psychologist provides School Psychology services that meet the educational needs of each student in the psychologist’s area of responsibility. Serves as Psychologist to students from Preschool through Transitions. Evaluates needs of children within the educational system or school.

Applies scientific principles in assessment of intellectual abilities, characteristics, and behavior. Conducts case management and supervision of assignments. Attends school meetings and completes psycho-educational assessment reports.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete Assessments and Psycho-educational Evaluations in the areas of Intellectual, Social-emotional, Adaptive/Behavioral, and other areas based on Student need.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis. Gather information through interviews, observations, and other meaningful practices to solicit relevant information regarding Student overall functioning.
  • Special Education and General Education functions- attendance to IEPs, 504s, and other meetings (psychologist’s responsibility and role which require meeting attendance)
  • Continuously promote research-based and best practices
  • Completion of Satisfactory reports within mandated timelines and as requested by supervisor
  • Abide by Professional ethics, school law, and systems.
  • Ability to understand and implement School and District-wide practices to promote learning
  • Provide for student supervision which ensures student safety consistent with district and school expectations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Implement and support diversity in development and learning
  • Crisis preparedness duties
  • Professional and meaningful presentation of psycho-educational assessment reports
  • Knowledge of research-based and best practices of the following: Academic/learning interventions, Mental health interventions, Behavioral interventions, Instructional support, Prevention and intervention services
  • Progress monitoring, consultation and collaboration with school personnel and parents (Family-school-community collaboration).

Education and Personal Qualifications

  • Appearance, grooming and personality which establish a desirable example for students.
  • Master’s Degree + California Pupil Personnel Credential authorizing service in School Psychology
  • Ability to meet Company standards for physical and mental health.
