School Of Behavioral Sciences | Online Adjunct Faculty - Community Care And Counseling

Summary:

An adjunct professor for the Department of Community Care and Counseling will be responsible for the administration, facilitation, and teaching of classes of approx. 20-25 online students from around the country and international. This job entails daily internet interaction with students pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in the fields of Human Services Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, and Community Care and Counseling.

Adjunct Professors will perform administrative tasks, interact with students through grading and interactive forums, and build relationships while under the supervision of Online Instructional Mentors.

Other responsibilities include:

• Teaching material from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
• Assisting students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
• Advising students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Motivating students to actively participate in all aspect of the educational process.
• Providing regular and timely feedback to students.
• Maintaining and reporting student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of faith integration and biblical concepts.
• Previous experience with online learning management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Professional or clinical counseling experience
• Doctoral degree in counseling or related field.
• Candidates will demonstrate knowledge of their field and application of current counseling practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision or related field from a CACREP accredited program.
• Candidates should have experience teaching in higher education with preference given to those who have taught in the online environment.
• Experience working with the Canvas learning management system.
• A strong professional identity demonstrated through advanced credentialing, certifications, presentations, publications, and service to the profession.
• Counseling licensure/certification such as NCC, LPC, or LMFT
