Scale Attendant Cashier Jobs

Sanitary Disposal, a Waste Connections company is currently looking for a full time Scale Attendant Cashier to work out in our Transfer Station in Hermiston, Oregon.

Hourly Rate of pay will be $22.00/HR.

The shift will be Tuesday-Saturday (Tuesday-Friday 8am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-5Pm). With Sunday and Mondays Off.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Weighing trucks coming in and out, while calculating total payments for customers based on items disposed of at the Transfer Station
• Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.
• Providing general upkeep of the Scale House.
• Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy.
• Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
• Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.
• Work on your feet outside throughout your shift
• Answers phone in a professional and enthusiastic fashion.
• Performs full clerical and general office duties.
• Nightly Closing Duties include Balancing Cashiers cash Drawer, as well as reconciling the Credit Card Machine or POS system.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Prior cash/Debit handling experience required.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to climb, bend, and stop to inspect containers.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Excellent customer service skills (Ability to Multi Task, while interacting with Customers)
• Ability to stand throughout an 8-hour shift
• Ability to multi-task, or Operate under fast Paced environment.
• On-the-job computer use/data entry (10 Key)
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
