JOB SUMMARY: As the Sawyer, you’ll be responsible for operating various horse-powered electric saws, to separate material from deposits and shape blocks to size for production use.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE:

• Who is willing to travel if needed
• Who enjoys working with equipment
• Has basic math and reading skills
• Who has or can obtain a passport and a valid driver’s license

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Stripping, twisting, and crimping wire
• Maintaining proper cutting parameters – direction, tension, and speed
• Setting up and maintaining moving the wire warning system barricade
• Maintaining adequate water supply for flushing and dust suppression
• Accurately setting up and aligning the saw setup to produce a safe, productive quality cut
• Stringing diamond wire through drilled holes cutting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Lifts up to 70 lbs.
• Kneels and stands on hard surfaces
• Works outdoors in all-weather elements
• Bends frequently
• Climbs ladders and stairs or other elevated platforms
• Walks extensively traversing rough terrain

TYPICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Opportunities for occasional work at other quarries may arise
• This position spends 100% of its time outdoors.
• Quarry conditions can vary from extreme summer heat to below-zero cold, wind, and rain.
