Job Description

Position Summary

Clean and sanitize equipment and plant following company sanitation guidelines. Operate a forklift to move and replace items in area being cleaned. Operate steam/hot water system as well as chemical hoses ensuring proper ratio of chemicals to water. Must be able to meet the minimum requirements of a Processing employee, wear appropriate PPE and follow company safety policies and procedures.


Essential Functions

  • Use proper Lock-out / Tag-out procedures
  • Handle and properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Properly use product and material-handling pumps
  • Pumping processing and brine tanks
  • Maintain and operate forklift safely at all times
      • Complete daily forklift inspection
  • Properly use steam / hot water system
  • Complete daily forklift inspection
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Read and understand the English language
  • Tote and barrel dumping
  • Dipping cherries from totes

Competencies and Certifications Required

  • Good communication skills
  • Trained and knowledgeable in the use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Internal GMP/HACCP/SQF Training
  • OSHA Forklift license
  • Must pass respiratory fitness test

Physical Demands of Job

The employee must be able to perform the physical demands listed below to perform this specific job functions:

  • Occasional pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional lifting and/or pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, and twisting

  • Wet or humid conditions
  • Exposure to bleach (calcium chloride)
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Exposure to brine (sulfur dioxide)
