Job Title: Safety Training Manager

The National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) seeks an experienced and dedicated Safety Training Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Safety Training Manager, you will be designing, conducting, and implementing comprehensive training programs. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a willingness to travel between 25-40% of the time.


Applicant MUST have experience in conducting HAZWOPER/HAZMAT and/or Confined Space Entry training. Please highlight this experience in your cover letter. Applicants without this required experience will not be considered.

A sample recording of a past training session is highly encouraged; interviewees will be expected to provide a short presentation highlighting their training abilities.


Responsibilities:

  • Performing mock OSHA inspections, environmental assessments, and developing written OHS plans and programs for clients.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety training programs and initiatives to meet the needs of NASP members and industry professionals.
  • Instructing portions of our Certified Safety Manager (CSM) Course, HAZWOPER and other Train-the-Trainer Courses.
  • Provide guidance and support to members and clients regarding safety training requirements, resources, and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate training records and generate reports to track attendance, completion rates, and other key performance indicators.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of training needs within different industries and organizations to tailor programs accordingly.
  • Create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and e-learning modules.
  • Deliver training sessions to diverse audiences, including employees, supervisors, and management personnel.
  • Attending conferences and seminars for OHS professionals.
  • Leading site-specific training for clients across the US, primarily on HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout, and others.
  • Conducting training for open-enrollment classes throughout the US for up to 1 week at a time


Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Spanish/Bi-lingual preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools is a bonus but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety training, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role, with HAZWOPER/HAZMAT and/or Confined Space Entry experience required
  • Professional certifications such as Master Safety Professional (MSP), Certified Safety Director (CSD), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel between 25-40% of the time, including overnight stays for up to six (6) days, as necessary.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering engaging training programs to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices across various industries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information.


Salary: $90,000 - $120,000/year DOE + opportunities for commission
