POSITION: Safety Manager STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Safety Manager is responsible for working as part of a team developing, implementing, and evaluation of effective safety policies and programs across the organization. This role will advise and assist with compliance of applicable safety laws and regulations. As part of the safety team, this role works across all departments to minimize risks by providing guidance, demonstrating regulatory compliance, and leading a Safety-First Culture.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment;
  • Monitor and evaluate safety programs and adherence to safety standards;
  • Head organizations Safety Committee;
  • Manage, maintain, and implement the Accident Prevention Plan;
  • Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses and provide corrective action recommendations;
  • Other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential risks and hazards;
  • Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers’ health or safety;
  • Coordinate with insurance representatives on safety progress and insurance rating;
  • Manage OSHA investigations and site inspections;
  • Manage safety LMS and develop hands on safety training programs, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety regulations;
  • Participate in onboarding of new employees and lead weekly safety meetings;
  • Manage safety records, including incident reports and safety training records;


REQUIREMENTS: 


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Exceptional documentation, organization, and coordination skills;
  • Experience in workers compensation case management;
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety related field or Certified Safety Professional (preferred);
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates;
  • OSHA 10 AND OSHA 30 certification;
  • Proficient in all Microsoft products;
  • 5+ years of safety management or related experience;
  • Strong background in adult education or training.
  • Expert knowledge in OSHA regulations;
  • Knowledge of Environmental regulations;
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations;
