PeopleReady of Waterloo, NY is now hiring Roofing Assistants! Associate needed to help with roofing project in WATERLOO, NY. Ongoing 9 week project converting old government facility to apartment complex on flat top roof. Monday through Friday 7:30AM-4PM, weather permitting.

Pay Rate

The pay rate for this job is $17 / Hour

What You'll Be Doing As a Roofing Assistant

• Safely setting up ladders, scaffolding and hoisting equipment as required.
• Updating the supervisor on job progress and reporting any problems related to the job.
• Replacing areas of clients' roofs that are damaged or rotting.
• Smoothing out rough spots on roofs to prepare the surface for new shingles or waterproofing.
• Measuring and cutting materials to ensure that they fit securely around vents, gutters, chimneys, and walls.
• General assisting with roofing project (holding parts, tools, etc. for techs)
• Removing and disposing of debris
• Safely transporting all required equipment and materials to job sites.
• Installing vapor barriers and insulation to create a more waterproof seal.

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)

Job Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
• Sound knowledge of business ordinances.
• Working knowledge of different roofing systems.
• The ability to use powered hand tools.
