Job Description
The Spot Manipulation team at Boston Dynamics is looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with the manipulation, autonomy, and perception teams developing key features enabling Spot, our quadruped robot, to complete real world customer-oriented tasks. To thrive in this role, you must have strong programming skills and be motivated and excited to create industry-transforming robotic systems.

Day to day activities:
  • Run experiments on robots in realistic situations, including in customer applications and in field deployment. Conduct failure analysis, and develop improved solutions for Spot’s manipulation behaviors
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to build a well integrated product
  • Design and implement algorithms in C++ enabling highly reliable and capable teleoperated and autonomous mobile robotic manipulation tasks
  • Create maintainable, testable, and documented systems, including customer facing API interfaces and services

Desired skills:
  • Experience with systems engineering, such as network setups, camera drivers and calibration
  • Experience working with sensor-based robotics technologies such as kinematic/dynamic modeling, object detection, machine learning, or motion planning
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills
  • 5+ years of programming in C++ and python
