Job Description
At H&P, our people are our strength.

We are looking for a Robotics and Automation Engineer to design and build robotics applications and devices. As a member of the Product Design and Development team, the Robotics and Automation Engineer will design prototypes, build and test machines, and maintain the software that controls them. The Robotics and Automation Engineer will also conduct research to find the most cost-efficient and safest processes for operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the use of robotic systems and optimize their functionality
  • Prepare specifications and other technical documentation so that prototype designs can be manufactured, assembled, and operated
  • Perform integration tests and quality control
  • Calculate and analyze test results
  • Prepare reports with recommendations and conclusions
  • Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines
  • Research the state of the art
  • Troubleshoot design defects
  • Apply machine learning techniques
  • Create complete documentation for robotic systems
  • Must develop and maintain technical expertise on advances and innovations in robotics and relevant fields of engineering Work under general supervision with advanced knowledge in subject matter
  • Build models and prototypes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of experience as a robotics and automation engineer preferred
  • Proficient with 3D modeling and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Expected to perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Ability to develop and evaluate integrated systems
  • Excellent professional and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of mechanization, flexible automation, and computer systems
  • Has acquired or is working towards obtaining P.E. license
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Well-versed in computer science, applied physics, and mechanics
  • Prior 3D simulation experience a plus
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to set and achieve goals
