We're looking for RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening. The right RN should have 2 years or more of recent experience.

As a Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology!

This is a high acuity, fast-paced unit that requires teamwork and strong communication skills. First Time Travelers Accepted. Travelers will be expected to float.

Shift Requirements

• Shifts: 4x12 or 3x12.

Call-Ins

• If a 0.9 FTE, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period.
• If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.
• If a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract.
• If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift:

Weekends

• Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract.
• Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need.

Charge Coverage

• Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.

Certification Requirements

• ACLS and BCLS.

Skillset Requirements

• Care of Post Op Patients.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Central& Art lines.
• IV Start.
• Chest Tubes.
• Telemetry.
• Feeding Tube.
• Fresh Trachs.

Floating Requirements

• Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.

Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6.

Unit Information

• Post-surgical patients in the PCU setting: Thoracic, ENT, General surgery, Urology.

Submittal Details

• 2 supervisor references required.
• Bill rate. Please see the job for the posted bill rate.
• Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to the offer.
• 18 months of experience required; exceptions may apply depending on the unit. Please refer to the job description.
• Certs required. Please see the job description/unit description to find the list of required certs depending on the unit.
• Travelers University must be accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation.
• No specific charting required for any IU health positions.
• Tier 2 Travel Compliance.
• License: For start dates 2-4 weeks out, must have IN or compact license in hand. For start dates 4+ weeks out, must have started the IN/compact licensing process to be submitted.
• SSN required at the time of submittal.
• Candidates under 50 miles will be accepted at the local rate. See AM for details.
• DOB required at the time of submittal.
• RTO: We can auto-approve 5 days of RTO or less. Anything more requires facility approval.
• Any PERM or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler.
• Floating is 100% required of ALL TRAVELERS. Candidates will float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital(s) nearby.
• Candidates MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• If 1 position is available, we can allow 3 submissions at one time.
