Job Description
Job Title: RN ICU
Location: Temecula, CA
Duration: 13 week
Start Date: 04/17/2023
Shift Timings 12hrs (Nights)
Pay: $90/hr.

Summary
Able to calculate and titrate vasoactive drugs used in the ICU in response to changing patient condition, care for patients receiving mechanical ventilation; assessment of effective ventilation, suctioning techniques, etc. Able to interpret cardiac arrhythmias and intervene appropriately, including alerting physician to significant changes. Able to perform ACLS interventions competently including external pacing, cardioversion and medication administration. Able to monitor the patient undergoing procedural sedation. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference and volume. Able to administer blood products per hospital policy. Able to administer IV therapy per hospital policy. Able to function effectively during an emergency patient care situation. Able to provide appropriate interventions regarding the use of restraints per hospital policy. Ability to work in high volume fluctuating census environment Performs patient assessment according to hospital/unit policy/procedure. Performs initial assessment and documents appropriately for the level of care appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age development level, and cultural and religious orientation in a timely manner b. Performs ICU standard level of care, completely and accurately including, but not limited to, physical , psychological, social status and other patient needs.. Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care, and response to any previous care. d. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate Includes plan for discharge/transfer. d. Identifies specific nursing diagnoses that are relevant to assessment findings. Identifies interventions, for each nursing diagnosis, specific to identified patient needs and documents in the EMR. Attends and actively participates in the Interdisciplinary Team meetings for assigned patients. Performs intervention identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Conducts patient/family education that: Is appropriate to the patient’s age, learning needs, level of understanding, and readiness to learn. -Includes the family/significant others when appropriate. Follows the five rights of medication administration and maintains transcription accuracy. Administers blood products per hospital policy. Administers IV therapy per hospital policy. Able to function effectively during an emergency patient care situation. Demonstrates appropriate interventions regarding the use of restraints per hospital policy. Assumes responsibility for maintaining a high level of clinical expertise and adapts to new information, technology and changing trends in nursing practice. CRITICAL CARE UNITS Is able to calculate and titrate vasoactive drugs used in the ICU in response to changing patient condition. Is able to care for patients receiving mechanical ventilation; i.e. assessment of effective ventilation, suctioning techniques, etc. Is able to interpret cardiac arrhythmias and intervene appropriately, including alerting physician to significant changes. Is able to perform ACLS interventions competently including external pacing, cardioversion and medication administration. Has attended and completed unit specific skills day. Is competent to monitor the patient undergoing procedural sedation.
